Accommodation

Accommodation, in most cases, are more expensive than the journey itself (whether it’s by flight or train). It’s easy to be tempted to book a hotel that is full of luxury and close to the main attractions but to stick your budget, it’s crucial you opt for affordable accommodation such as an Airbnb, renting apartments and even finding hotels in quiet areas that won’t cost you a lot.

Culinary Delights

There is an allure of delicious restaurants in Paris that are pricey but if you want to maintain your budget during your trip, there are a lot of options. Firstly, you can choose to have a picnic along the Seine or Champ-de-Mars. Bring your tasty baguette, croissants and drinks and enjoy the Parisian view!

You can also find budget-friendly restaurants in the Rue Monge area where the meals are affordable. If you love markets, you can also visit the Bastille market where you can roast chicken and potatoes for €12-15.

Navigating The City

Unlike London, Paris isn’t a walkable city when it comes to seeing the attractions. We get the appeal of taxis as it does make it easier to get to A to B but unfortunately, it can make for an expensive trip if you’re relying on taxis. The good news is that Paris’ Metro system is not only easy and convenient to use but it also is budget friendly. When you get to Paris, be sure to get a Navigo pass or buy tickets in the station where you can easily get to where you want in the City all the while maintaining your budget.

Explore Free Museums

Many museums offer free admission on specific days, allowing you to dive deeper into the city’s rich artistic heritage on a budget. For instance, on the first Sundays of the month, you can get a free entry to most museums, including the Louvre! So if you haven’t booked your ticket to Paris yet and love museums, plan your schedule early in the month to take advantage!
