In our quest for clean clothes, we might not always think about the impact on the environment. Here at Laundryheap, our primary objective is to set the standard as a frontrunner in implementing eco-friendly laundry practices within the laundry and dry cleaning industry. In this blog post, we’ll explore the various steps that we, along with our partner facilities, have taken for a better environment.

Efficient Water Use

Aligned with the UAE’s goal for net-zero carbon emissions, Laundryheap has updated its laundry practices to prioritise the environment. Now, clothes are washed at 30°C but customers also have the option to select a higher temperature of 45°C when booking their order. This change that saves a lot of energy compared to higher temperatures. This shift highlights Laundryheap’s commitment to sustainability and helps build a more eco-friendly future.

In addition, we have also taken steps to test water treatment procedures to filter the water before its discharge into sewers. This significantly reduces pollution by removing contaminants, such as dirt and chemicals, preventing their entry into rivers, lakes, or oceans. This measure ensures the well-being of fish and other aquatic animals while maintaining the cleanliness of the water.

Sustainable Delivery

Extending our commitment beyond the laundry room, we also prioritise sustainability in our logistics operations. A dedicated logistics support team, coupled with cutting-edge routing technology, facilitates sustainable route optimization, effectively reducing vehicle mileage and minimizing waste.

Laundryheap’s investment in fuel efficient vehicles and utilising regional fencing technology is a testament to our dedication in helping the environment.

In addressing the environmental impact of our delivery services, we have taken groundbreaking steps to reshape our approach. For instance, the introduction of electric vehicles not only curtails fuel consumption but also results in a remarkable reduction of over 41 tonnes in CO2 emissions by the year’s end.

Complementing this effort, the implementation of reusable cotton delivery bags in the MENA region underscores our dedication to minimising plastic waste. These new ways of doing things fit perfectly with the Laundryheap’s plan to be more eco-friendly.

Consumer Awareness in UAE

As consumer awareness of environmental issues grows, Laundryheap recognises the evolving landscape. A recent study reveals that 83% of people in the UAE are now conscious of their environmental footprint and the impact of their purchasing choices. Laundryheap not only aligns with this trend but actively contributes to shaping a sustainable future for the laundry and dry cleaning industry.

  1. Laundryheap’s dedication to eco-friendly practices is truly commendable! Choosing a lower wash temperature not only saves energy but also aligns with the UAE’s carbon emissions goals. I’d suggest exploring the benefits of air-drying your clothes whenever possible; it not only conserves energy but also helps maintain the quality of your garments. Embracing sustainable laundry practices is a small step that collectively makes a big impact on our environment. Kudos to Laundryheap for leading the way!
