5 Laundry Products And What They’re Used For

We know that there are a lot more laundry products than just detergent and softener. Some we’ve heard of before and some we don’t know what the uses are for.

Here are 5 laundry products and what they’re used for:

Bluing

You may have heard about or have seen bluing agents for laundering. Bluing agents  improve the appearance of clothing, especially the whiteness level of fabrics. This is because adding blue pigments to, for example natural yellowing, results in a whiter white.

Most bluing agents are highly concentrated and needs to be diluted to prevent permanent staining and streaking.

Borax

Borax is a natural mineral that is safe for the environment. On it’s own, it has many uses and it is also used as an ingredient in many products, such as disinfectants, household cleaners and laundry boosters. This means that Borax helps to disinfect, removes stains and whiten clothes.

Chlorine bleach

Chlorine bleach contains 5.25% solution of sodium hypochlorite and water. It is another disinfectant used in laundry that helps get rid of bacteria and viruses, as well as whiten natural fabrics such as cotton or linen. Chlorine bleach must always be diluted with water for safety measures for the fabric.

Oxygen Bleach

Unlike Chlorine bleach, it comes in both liquid and solid formulas. It is a term for sodium percarbonate, a compound of natural soda crystals and hydrogen peroxide.

This bleach is eco-freindly, safe to use on coloured fabrics and can be mixed in with other detergents.

It helps to disinfect, remove organic stains and brighten fabrics. Unlike Chlorine bleach, it works much more slowly BUT is much more gentle.

Enzyme Presoak

For washing clothes, Ennzyme Presoak acts as a stain removal treatment. The enzymes breaks down even the toughest stains so it can be easily removed in the actual wash cycle. These enzymes can be found din biological detergent.

There are many other laundry products that help you to get the maximum results for your clothes, but there are also laundry professionals like Laundryheap who can deliver quality cleaned laundry to your door.
