The history behind the reason why they were built this way is because residents were taxed on the width of the houses, hence why they’re all tall and narrow. These classic Amsterdam houses are historical and picturesque, and can be found in almost every street in Amsterdam.

Cycling

Experience the cycling lifestyle in this beautiful city. A bike is the main transportation used in Amsterdam, whether that’s going to work, on dates or going to the market.
